But it’s so fucking ridiculous. The etiquette rules are: The person who arrives at the door first holds it open for the person who arrived second. A younger or more able-bodied person always holds the door for someone who is elderly or disabled. Someone with free hands should hold the door for someone whose hands are full carrying things. If you’re alone, you should always glance behind you and make sure there’s no one there so you don’t let a door slam in someone’s face out of obliviousness. You should always nod and smile at someone holding a door for you, and vice versa.
Gender has JACK SHIT to do with the real etiquette.
I can verify this. I often, being the awkward duckling I am, end up holding the door open for possibly 50+ people at a time when a class lets out. Every single time, every girl that passes me by says “thank you”, but from the guys, I get maybe one or two “thank yous” out of the bunch.
I TOLD YOU GUYS!!!!!!
So my university had a ‘stress-free resort’ station set up today to help students combat the stress of finals week.
There was a coloring table
complete with Lion King coloring books
There was a lego table
also, free massages.
This is the most wonderful thing that ever happened in four years of college.
Our school should do this
Snowflakes are actually the perfect metaphor for people. Each one IS unique, but we all have the same structure and are pretty similar in spite of our differences. And really, with as many around as there is, aint no one gonna notice your differences unless they care enough to look closely.
People are also similar to snowflakes in that it is difficult to drive when there are too many of them piled up on the road.
Well that took a turn I didn’t expect
Cats who can’t figure out walls [x]
PLEASE TAKE YOUR CAT TO THE VET IF YOU SEE THEM DOING THIS BEHAVIOR OVER TIME.
It’s called “head pressing” and it occurs in dogs and cats.
Head pressing is characterized by the compulsive act of pressing the head against a wall or other object for no apparent reason. This generally indicates damage to the nervous system, which may result from a number of varying causes, including prosencephalon disease (in which the forebrain and thalamusparts of the brain are damaged), or toxic poisoning.
